This rod is shorter than most Datsuns normally use, but is needed if you are running a shorter or smaller battery for lighter weight, racing, etc

ALSO, battery sizes and shapes have changed over the years, so it is possible that the original J-bolt may no longer be the one you need
To be sure of proper fitment, please measure your old J-bolts if they are correct
If they are missing or have the wrong ones in there, just measure distance from the top of the J-bolt hole to the top of the battery, then add 1/2"
Also, the models that use two J-bolts do not always use the same length for both, so be sure to measure both
