The the FS5W71B (overdrive) and F5C71B (direct drive) only came with the outer spring installed
This spring can and should be added to the FS5W71B and F5C71B to increase the amount of detent which helps to keep you from hitting reverse in the heat of battle
Same for helping to keep from hitting 5th when going for 3rd
On the models that use two springs, this is the skinnier inner spring
The larger spring (outer one if double springs) 32852-24901 is NLA- gone for good
