Single groove "Euro" crankshaft damper from Datsun Competition / Nissan Motorsports
If you want this item, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING TWO WARNINGS
Thing 1)
These damper / pulleys were notoriously tight-fitting. Way too tight sometimes.
If it does not go onto the crankshaft with light tapping with a deadblow hammer or mallet, DO NOT TRY TO FORCE IT ONTO THE CRANK. YOU WILL BREAK THE PART.
You may need to hone the I.D. a bit with an apropriately sized ball hone in order to achieve the correct amount of fit that is not too tight.
You can also have the crank snout polished at a machine shop to achieve the same thing.
Thing 2)
The "special", "high performance", and "heavy duty" crank bolt and washer kits that are recommended to be used with this damper / pulley often include a washer that is TOO THICK where it goes into the middle hole of the pulley.
This causes the washer to contact the crank, and any torque that you apply to the bolt DOES NOT hold the pulley, because you are torquing the washer against the crankshaft and not the pulley.
If you do use one of these bolt and washer kits, you need to make double sure that the washer is not too thick, or else catastrophic damage WILL OCCUR.
